David Hume

David Hume was a Scottish philosopher, historian, economist, and essayist known for his influential contributions to empiricism, philosophical skepticism, and metaphysical naturalism. Beginning with A Treatise of Human Nature, he sought to develop a naturalistic science of man by examining the psychological foundations of human experience. Drawing from the work of John Locke and Francis Bacon, Hume rejected innate ideas in favor of an experimental method rooted in sensory impressions.
