A guide to Discover, your library, the marketplace, selling, and account support.
How 2manybooks fits together
A social catalog for collectors: discover editions, build a public library, trade through the marketplace, and get paid when you sell—all in one place.
Discover
Search the catalog, browse collectors and categories, and open any book into a full modal with market comps, community notes, and ownership.
Open DiscoverYour library
Catalog every copy you own—covers, condition, shelves, likes, and fair-value estimates. Immersive grid and 3D shelf views help you see the collection as a whole.
Open LibraryMarketplace
Buy listed copies, send offers to owners, and track checkout with payment held via Stripe until the order completes. Orders live on your dashboard with payment and shipment states.
Browse marketplaceSelling

Discover & library
Finding books, cataloging copies, covers, subjects, and fair value.
- Where do I start browsing?
- Discover (home) is the catalog front door—search, collectors, and category rows. Your Library holds the copies you own, plus likes and books for sale.
- A book title, author, or cover looks wrong.
- Open the book modal and use report or edit flows where available. Our catalog team reviews submissions; duplicate or merged editions may take a short time to reconcile.
- Why do subject tags look different from what I typed?
- Tags are normalized to English display labels so collections stay searchable across languages. Your original intent is preserved in catalog data where possible.
- What is fair value on my copy?
- Fair value is an estimated market reference for your edition and condition—not a guaranteed sale price. It helps price listings and collection totals on your dashboard.
Offers & buying
Sending offers, responding as a seller, and when interest becomes a sale.
- How do I make an offer on a book?
- Open the book modal and choose Send offer when someone owns a public copy. Submit an amount and optional message—owners are notified in activity and their dashboard inbox.
- How do I buy a listed copy?
- From the book’s Market section or the marketplace, choose Buy now on an active listing, then finish checkout. Payment is held via Stripe on the platform payment account until release conditions are met (not a licensed escrow service).
- Where do I see offers on my books?
- Sign in and open Dashboard. Incoming offers appear in Inbox with the buyer, amount, and message so you can accept or continue on the listing.
- Are offers binding?
- Offers are expressions of interest until a checkout or accepted sale path completes. Final price and availability follow marketplace listing and order rules.
Orders & shipping
Checkout, payment, shipment, and completed sales.
- What does pending payment mean?
- The buyer still needs to finish checkout. From Dashboard, buyers can open Complete payment; sellers see the order once payment clears.
- When do I ship as a seller?
- After payment is captured and held, confirm shipment from Dashboard or the order confirmation link. Upload tracking when prompted so the buyer can follow delivery.
- Where is my order history?
- Dashboard lists active and recent orders under Order history, split into sales and purchases. Use Open on a row for checkout or shipment details.
Selling & payouts
Seller verification, Stripe Connect, listings, and when funds arrive.
- Why cannot I publish a listing?
- Verified seller status and a connected Stripe account are required. Open Store from the menu, complete verification if needed, then Connect Stripe.
- When do payouts hit my bank?
- Stripe pays out on their schedule after a sale completes and any hold period ends. Payout timing depends on your country and Stripe account status—check Stripe Dashboard for transfer dates.
- Charges or payouts show as pending in Store.
- Finish Stripe onboarding and any identity steps they request. Until charges and payouts both show enabled, listings may stay unpublished or orders may not settle.
Account & settings
Sign in, profile, privacy, and keeping your account secure.
- I cannot sign in or reset my password.
- Use the login page with the email tied to your account. If you still cannot access it, email support@2manybooks.com from the address on file and include your username.
- Where do I change username, email, or notification preferences?
- Open Settings from the menu or go to /settings. Profile image, color, privacy, and marketplace preferences live there; save changes before leaving the page.
- How do I delete or pause my account?
- Contact support@2manybooks.com with your username. We will confirm ownership and walk you through export or closure options.
iPhone Home Screen app
Install 2manybooks on your iPhone without the App Store.
- How do I add 2manybooks to my Home Screen?
- On iPhone, open 2manybooks in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. The icon opens the same site in full-screen mode—your library, discover, and marketplace work the same as in Safari while you stay signed in.
- Why did a link open in Safari instead of my Home Screen icon?
- Some email links (for example password reset) may open in Safari first. Sign in there, or copy the link and open it from Safari while logged in; your session cookie applies to the same site in both Safari and the Home Screen app.
- Is this different from an App Store app?
- Yes. This is a web app you install from Safari—not a separate download from the App Store. You need an internet connection for most features; push notifications and background updates are more limited than native apps.
