Saskia Sassen

Saskia Sassen is a Dutch-American sociologist born on January 5, 1947, recognized for her research on globalization and international human migration. She is the Robert S. Lynd Professor of Sociology at Columbia University and a Centennial visiting professor at the London School of Economics. Sassen is credited with coining the term global city.
